You don't have to. Blender doesn't require a mega-powerful computer (I3, 4gb ram, Windows 10 64-bit you can already run your 3Ds). Blender doesn't need a video card. Only for very advanced and heavy projects would a video card be ideal. But it won't be necessary for the course.
